Joel Schumacher directed and produced the soundtrack to his 1987 California vampire film, the premise being two brothers who move to Santa Cruz, one gets drawn into a gang of vampires, the other has to pull him back out.
The ten tracks he assembled are the icing on the blood-spattered cake, since the film already carries itself on pacing and scenography alone: opposite ring-corners of the 80s spectrum are heard in INXS and Jimmy Barneson 'Good Times', Echo & the Bunnymen's Doors cover, Roger Daltrey on an Elton John song, and Lou Gramm with the title bustling, gothic theme with dramatic tenor and running tempo. And of course, Gerard McMahon's 'Cry Little Sister' is the runaway winner that outlasted the rest.
