A$AP Rocky is an American rapper from Harlem born in 1988 as "Rakim Athelston Mayers". He started his music career as a member of ASAP Mob where he obtained his stage name. His song "Peso" was leaked in 2011 and began receiving airplay within a matter of weeks, propelling him into the mainstream.
